REMOTE REPAIRS

Many of your computer's problems can be fixed, not by a technician coming to your home or business, but instead via a secure remote connection over the Internet.  This is very cost effective as remote repairs can usually be initiated very quickly and the cost is less than the on-site rate.

How It Works

Getting your computer fixed remotely is a very easy and safe process.

While speaking with a Belfair ComputerLab technician on the telephone you will be directed how to, by making just a few simple clicks, give the technician access to your computer.  Then you just sit back and watch as the technician repairs your computer as if he or she was sitting in the room with you.  After the repair is complete, the technician will direct you in making your computer once again secure from intruders by performing a few more simple clicks.

And just like that, you're back in business at a fraction of the cost of a technician visit and without the inconvenience of having to leave your home or business.

Is It Safe?

Absolutely.  You the customer are in complete control of when and for how long the connection is established between our technician and your computer.

There are several actions that you must take to allow the connection and a connection cannot be made without you taking all of these steps:

1) You must check a box in Windows to allow the computer to be controlled remotely.

2) You select how long the connection may last - from 1 hour to 30 days.

3) You send our technician a file via email that allows him or her to connect to your computer.

4) When the technician opens the file you emailed, a pop-up on your screen will ask if you want the technician to connect to your computer.  If you allow the connection, the technician will be able to see your screen but not be able to change anything.

5) You will be given the option of allowing the technician to not only see your computer but to have full control of it as well.

In addition, if at any time you want to close the connection, you simply click a button on your screen or turn off your computer.

As you can see, there are at least a half dozen ways you can control exactly when and for how long a technician can take control of your computer.  You can be assured that computer repairs via a remote connection are safe and secure.

Many, but not all, problems can be fixed remotely.  To find out more about remote repairs of your computer or network at your home or business, please call or e-mail us:
